Such a Beautiful Weekend!

Love this time of year, except for the allergies...

We had a Easter Egg hunt & BQ on Saturday. It was a Great time. The boys had so much fun playing on the dirt pile. I had forgotten how dirty little boys can get. Austin is a BIG Boy now and stayed inside most of the time. No pictures of him.

Then today - Easter Sunday got up early and went to a Sunrise Service downtown at the River. Met Angie, Sean, Austin & Lexi there. Then went and had breakfast at I HOP. Can't ask anything more then being able to spend time with family. I feel so Blessed......need a nap now!

I have my little friends (truly country kids) that love to visit my canal next to our home. They are not afraid of snakes. They came knocking on my door " Ms. Ann, Ms. Ann, come see the snakes" One snake is eating the other one. I SCREAMED so loud!! I had to run and get the camera to take a picture of this. Can you believe this??? They are not afraid to get in the ditch bare footed. I always tell them they are CRAZY!!!

Then - 1973

Now after 36 years! Dan was a Cajun boy from Rayne, LA, and came to Little Rock to go to School. After he graduated in 1972 he moved back to LA. Long distance relationships are very hard so I told him that if he still wanted to marry he had to move back to Arkansas. So he. But I didn't say that we had to stay in AR. So he married me and then moved me. He was a nerd back then, but now he is now my Silver Fox!

FATHER'S DAY IN WALKER

We had a Great Father's Day on Saturday. Everyone came over on Saturday and Chad & Sean B Q for us. I thought I had 7 T'bones, but really only had 5 and 2 Rib eyes. We had to cut the Rib eyes in pieces so everyone could get a bite of it. Goes to show how much I know about meat. Of course we had chicken and sausage also, and they grilled vegies from our garden. We had a Great time to together. (I call it "FAMILY TIME" and Sean rolls his eyes at me) Those boys really know how to cook, they have so much fun together. Stacy baked a pineapple cake that was to die for and I always have to make potato salad. And as always Alexia & Caleb fought over who was going to sit in my lap. I love it!!! Austin you to always want to sit with me, but he is a big boy now. He turned 11 last month.

Then on Sunday after Church Dan & I went to Rayne to visit his Dad. We were able to get him in our car and go visit Michelle for awhile. It was a very sweet time for all of us. It will be the last time that we are going to be able to take him out. He is like Mother, he can not get up by himself. Michelle was so thankful that we were able to get him out on this Father's Day. We had another great weekend. By the way, that picture is from Amanda's wedding. For some reason I did not take pictures this weekend.

Great Weekend

We had a Great Weekend!! First Saturday Morning we went to Alexia's soccer game, then we had plan to come home and work in the yard all day. But instead, we met our old friends, Bob & Ginny Parrolli at the soccoer field. They were leaving but stayed and talked with us and then watched Alexia play. So after Alexia's game they wanted to come over and see what we had done to our dining area. Then we decided to go eat lunch, so we went in to Denham and had a great hamburger (a real one), then we set and talked forever about our kids and grandkids, so around 2:30pm we thought about going to the movies, so we went to see "Wild Hogs", it was pretty good. After we dropped them off back at the Soccer field we went to see what Angie & Sean had done to Alexia's room. They had ripped out the carpet in her room and was painting the walls a beautiful blue, then they are going to paint the floor pink. So any way we had a great Saturday with our old friends.

Then today Dan & I went to Church, we had dinner at Church to celebrate our Pastor's 7th year anniversary. It was really a Great Service. Then we really wanted to come home an take a nap, but instead, I got on the riding mower and Dan put on his work clothes and we started cleaning the yard. Then a little later, Chad, Stacy & Caleb came over to visit, Caleb help us clean the yard and they rode on the 4-Wheeler for awhile. Now it Sunday Night and I need to get ready for MONDAY. It was a beautiful Weekend. Next Weekend is Dan's Dad 79th Birthday, so we are all planning on going to Rayne to celebrate with them.

Twenty Packets of Flower Seeds

Alexia & I planted 20 packets of seeds after her Soccer game on Saturday. We had such a good time!! She loves helping me working in the yard. As you can see we have gloves on. I do not like touching dirt. Well after a while Lexi & I took our gloves off and put our hands in the dirt. It wasn't that bad. We took all of the trays of seeds to our green house and hopefully we will see sprouts in a few weeks.

We were really enjoying our time together until her Mom called and wanted to know if we wanted to come over and eat crawfish. (I can't eat it) but anyway Lexi wanted to go eat and then come back over. Dan was working in the yard, and I couldn't believe that he didn't want to go eat crawfish. So anyway the plan was that Lexi would go eat then come back over. Well Lexi ate Crawfish and then took a nap until Sunday Morning. She had a very busy Saturday.

Busy Weekend

We have had a very busy weekend. Saturday morning Dan & I took our three precious grandchildren to the Global Wildlife safari. The kids loved it. We rode around in a wagon and were able to feed the animals as they would come right up to us and stick out their tongue. We had brought Caleb's little sippy cup and Alexia had a coke from McD's and Austin had a bottle coke. Well Caleb want Aleixa drink because it had a straw. So Alexia said he could have it. We didn't realize what coke will do to a two year old. Within two minutes he was going wild on us. At first I didn't realize what it was, then Dan said I think it is the coke that we gave him. So for the next hour on the wagon we were trying to keep Caleb from jumping off the wagon to go play with the animals. But he wasn't the only wild child there, we picked the wagon with two other wild boys. (One was a RED HEAD) But over all it was a great time with the grandkids. Then afterwards we were all hungry so we went into the town and Dan & Austin spotted a "Kentucky Fried Chicken" sign and they both had wanted to try out this new thing that has mashed potatoes with gravy, fried chicken and cheese on it. So anyway we went into the place and so I ordered some Chicken also. So we ate, then Caleb was very quite for a few minutes, then we smelt something. Thank goodness no one else was in the place, because it was not a good smell. If you know what I mean. It was an all day event. So we dropped Austin & Alexia off at their home and call Chad and they were at our home working on his 4-Wheeler. (He is going out with the "boys" when we go to Natchez). All I wanted to do was to come home, take a bath, and rest for the rest of the night. So after they left I was getting ready to take a bath and got a phone call from Dan's parents and said they were coming over Sunday. So I got into gear again, sent Dan to Walmart for fixing for Jamabala and Potato Salad. Got up early this morning and started cooking for everyone. So today we had the whole family over for dinner. It was so good to see Dan's Mom & Dad to be able to come over. His Dad is getting really weak, and needs help getting up & down out of a chair. Michelle ( his Sister) is really helping out a lot now. It is so nice to see her & Dan together. After dinner we took them over to see Angie's home and then to Chad's home. So now it is 9:00 Sunday night and here I am blogging instead of relaxing in my chair. So anyway, this is my weekend. Very busy, but I love when we have "Family Time"

Friday Night at Chili's

Friday was my second week at my new job working at a Lawyer's Office. I had told Angie earlier in the week that we would all try to get together this weekend and go out to eat. Well, Friday after work, I went and had a massage ( It was so good, but not as good as Amanda), so on the way home I tried to call Angie at home, on her cell - no answer. I tried to call Chad at home, his cell, Stacy cell - no answer. So when I got home Dan & I started working out in the yard. Then I got the CALL - "Where are going tonight?" Well I wasn't in the mood to go by then, because it makes me mad when no one answers their phones and I was already in my yard working and watering my plants. So anyway to make a long story longer I told them to hurry up and get to Chili's before it got to crowded. So needless to say Dan & I got there first. So they said we had about a 30 minute wait. That wasn't to bad, we thought. So about 30 minutes later, they ask if we wanted to split up. Well what is the use of us all going out together if we can't sit together. So we had another 30 minute wait. But, it was a beautiful evening outside, the weather was beautiful and we enjoyed talking and picking at each other. Sean kept picking at me and it was making Angie mad. So she went to sit on another bench. Then she wanted to know what we were talking about. So we finally got to go inside and eat. They had two for one drinks, so Chad & Sean enjoyed a couple of drinks. Dan ordered a Root Beer - and it was a bottle, so no refills for him. Angie & I drink water and split our meal, so that we would not eat to much. Caleb & Alexia are jealous of each other. When Caleb came over to sit in my lap, Lexi had to get on the other leg. Well Caleb started pushing her away!!! He did not want to share me with her, it was really funny to see them fight over me. (I loved it) But anyway, we really had a great time. And of course afterwards Dan & I had to go to Walmart. So Lexi & Caleb both wanted ride with PaPa & BooBoo. So all in all it was a good Friday night! It is always fun when we all get together.

Thank goodness for Chad & Sean, we could not have done it without them, Angie & Stacy helped also.

I stayed out of their way. Alexia likes to help, she is such a good little worker. Austin stayed in the office until he left to go to a birthday party. Stacy & Caleb came over later after Caleb went to a bd party also. It took all day, but we (I mean they) finished it around 8:00 Saturday night. I took Alexia & Caleb outside to ride in the wagon and look at the birds, swing and throw rocks in the ditch. Caleb loves the outside!!! It is so much fun to see Chad & Sean work together, they have their own little conversations and we could hear them laughing. They really work very well together. Sean had to leave around 2:00 to go to his buddies to watch LSU get beat. (SAD) When he came back he was full of entergy because he was so mad about the game. Dan, Chad & Stacy were ready to call it a night and finish it later, but Sean got them back on a roll and were able to finish it. Dan & I rested all day Sunday. I was exhasted from watching them. The floors look great. Our next step is to knock out the wall from the dining room and the foyer. Dan said that was going to be a lot easier than on his knees putting down floors. The boys said not this weekend. We have to give them several weekend off.

Grandparents Day Sunday

We had such a good time Sunday. I love it when I have my Grandchildren and Children all together. We all went to Church (except Sean) then out to eat. It seams it is always about food in our families. We had pizza and salad. Angie & I did very well, we only ate one piece and a lot of salad. Good ruffage (don't know how to spell it, but you know what I mean) We went to GodFathers, that is where Sara (Stacy sister) works. Calab followed her around when she was trying to wait on other tables. It was so cute. Alexia would try and get him and he would run from her. I said that we were going to get Sara fired, but Stacy said that it was fine. Because her boss really like her because she was a very dependable worker. So anyway Caleb had fun following her around the place. As you can see he still has not gotten rid of his nooney(pacifier)

Dan just looked at the picture and wanted to know who that OLD man was. I told him he was still good looking!!

Grandparents Day at School

Today was Grandparents day at Austin & Alexia's school. Alexia & I had our lunch at 10:45am and then we went to find Austin. Then we went back to the cafeteria with Austin. Austin had to stay at school after lunch because he is an Ambassador at his school. Alexia & I went home and played "Candy Land" then took a nap for awhile, then Stacy brought Caleb over. At 2:00 we went to pick Austin up and went to to McDonalds to play in the indoor playarea, when we got there it was closed because they are redoing it. We still enjoyed Happy Meals!! Then came back home and played outside for awhile. Caleb & Alexia love to swing, but we could only stay outside for a little while because it is still hot & humid down here. This has been a great day for me!

I forgot to mention that Angie came over during her lunch break at school. So happy that she is working! Also, I ate a few frenchfries - soooo goooood! It was about 6 points on Weight Watchers but some times it is worth it.

PaPa & Caleb Benjamin

Caleb loves PaPa to read to him, because PaPa makes the sound of all the farm animals. He also loves to play with PaPa's John Dear Tractor Collections. He goes straight to the glass cabinet and gets the tractors out to play with them, but he calls them his trucks. We try to tell him to say tractor, but he shakes his head no and says trucks.

This is more of my beautiful garden, We live in a tropical paridice. The hummingbirds love the white ginger. It has such a sweet smell. The pink ginger (Hidden ginger) is my favorite because a old man from where I use to work gave it to me and I think of him when it starts to bloom.

July 4th we spent at Gulf Shores, AL. We had such a good time. It is so nice to get away and have some fun!!! Alexia and Angie love the beach the most. It is fun to spend time together as a family. I love being with my children & grandchildren.

Tuesday I spent the day with Angie shopping for floor stuff and looking for a new sofa for their new floor. The old one you could not sit on it anymore. It is at end of their driveway. Poor neighborhood. We found one that is really pretty -it is RED but it will look really good in her home. I was suppose to cut grass since I was off, but oh well you only live once and I want to enjoy time with daughter . I will worry about bills later, then wish I would have gone to work. I want to redo my house now. Tear out the dinning room wall and the livingroon wall and have a great big open space. I think it would really look good.

Caleb's Birthday Saturday 8/12/06

We had Caleb's Birthday party at our home. We had a Great time!! All of his little friends came over and they were so cute to watch them play together. All of Chad & Stacy friends are now parents. It just seams like yesterday that Angie & Chad were having their little birthday parties. Chad grilled hamburger & hotdogs and I made potato salad. Food & fellowship was great, but after 2 hours of little ones running around the wet yard we were glad when it was over.(It stormed right before the party)
